QUARRY OUTPUT

WORK AT MANGATARATA

1369 YARDS FOR THE MONTH

The output for the past month at the Mangatarata quarry was 1369 cubic yards of crushed, metal, reported the county engineer, Mr E. Hazledine Barber, to the August meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council. The metal was distributed as follows: Highways and roads, 90'8 cubic yards; sales, 461 cubic yards; total, 1369 cubic yards.

“ quarry was closed down three days owing to the breaking of the crusher shaft in the drum crusher. With four months of the year gone the output is approximately one thousand cubic yards behind last year. Every endeavour will be made to make up this deficiency but it is very doubtful if this can be overtaken,” added the report.
