REQUESTS FROM OVERSEAS
DIAMOND JUBILEE OF COUNTY
The distance that the fame of the Ohinemuri county’s diamond jubilee publication had • spread was pointed out to the August meeting of the Ohinemuri County Council by the clerk, Mr A. A. Jenkinson, when he told the meeting that he had received requests for copies of the publication from Australia and the United States. The assistant librarian to the Widner Library, Harvard University, Massachusetts, wrote: —
“ I notice that last year you published a work entitled ‘ Diamond
Jubilee of the Ohinemuri County, 1885-1945.’ I should very much appreciate it if you would send me a copy of this book for the Harvard University library.” The librarian to the New Zealand .Government’s Tourist Department’s library in Sydney wrote: — iC I shall be most grateful if you will make available a copy of this book for the New Zealand library here in Sydney.” Mr Jenkinson told the council that he would supply the copies requested if he could obtain them.
