KEREPE'EIHI BRANCH MEETING

REPORT ON CAR'D EVENINGS

The monthly .meeting of the Kevepeehi Women's Division was held in the Kerepeehi Hall on Wednesday afternoon, June 2'5. Mrs A. Strong presided and the meeting opened with the reading of, thd creed. ■Mrs'A*.'(L. Fisher' gave a report on . 1 ' ’’ ’ 4 ’ ’ • T’' the card evenings l , stating that they a great success financially and socially.

It was decided to send a tin of shortbread to■the local boys serving in Japan, and a donation be given to the Young Farmers’ Club.

Remits to be taken to the conference were discussed. The members were very interested in the quilting demonstration. MEETING AT MANGATARATA LETTER FROM NAVY LEAGUE . The. June meeting, of the Mangatafata branch of the Women’s Division was held recently at the residence of Mrs G. 'Gray. Mi’s ‘ Cropp presided over a fair attendance of members. After the singing of the division song and the reading of the creed, the correspondence was dealt with by the secretary, Mirs B. Main. One letter of special interest was a letter of appreciation to the president from the Navy League, thanking all members for the fine garments that had been knitted for the league during the war years. ‘

'lndividual talks on benefits received through the 'W.'D.IF.U. proved interesting. The competitions- resulted': Best bloom, Mrs IBurns T,"Mlrs B. Main 2; shoulder spray, Mirs jß'urns 1, Mrs B. Main. 2.- The hostesses were' Mrs G. Gray and Mrs J. .Flynn.. 'Songs and recitations were rendered by Mrs Taylor, Mi’s J. Flynn and Mrs 'Skinner, and a competition was won by Mrs E. Arthur. Mrs Crop thanked Mrs G. Gray for her kindness in lending, her home for the meeting. The afternoon concluded with the singing of the .national anthem; •
