CONFERENCE OF COUNTIES

PLAINS 1 REPRESENTATIVES Advice that they had been unsuccessful in arranging a conference with the Prime Minister on the important subject of hospital rating, as the Prime Minister was engaged at a. meeting of the Executive Council was received at the May meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council in a report of a meeting of the emergency committee of the N.Z. Counties Association.

Steps are being taken to arrange the conference at the first opportunity added the report. A Conference of all county councils will be held in Wellington in July when most of them will be occupied in receiving the .Parliamentary Report, hospital rating and catchment board matters.

The chairman, Cr. C. W. Parfitt and the county clerk, Mr E. A. Mahoney, were appointed to represent Plains.
