MATCHES ON SATURDAY BIRCH CUiP CHALLENGE PAEROA TO PLAY TE AROHA A meeting of the management committee of the Paeroa Rugby Union was held in the pavilion of the Paeroa Domain on Monday night, the chairman, Mr W. 'F. -F. Faber, presiding. Others present were Messrs V. Alley, R. Todd, A. H. Cole, E. Morgan, C. Ricketts, L. Vercoe, K. Fitzhenry, R. Harris, J. Sinnett, and the secretary Mr A. Bradburn. The chairman reported that the lights at the domain for practice would be ready very shortly. Games were arranged with Waiuku senior and junioi’ representatives to play at Paeroa on Saturday, June 1. An endeavour is to be made to arrange for a senior team from Hauraki Plains to play at Paeroa on the same day. It was announced! that the senior representative team would play Waihi at Waihi on June 3 and if possible a match will be arranged between the junior Paeroa andi ‘Waihi representatives on the same day. Mb R. Todd was appointed) delegate to the Thames Valley Rugby Union.

The Union agreed to pay half the cost of new jerseys for the Paeroa Primary School Rugby Union. A challenge was issued to Waihi for the (Birch cup. The following games- were arranged for Saturday:— Seniors: Paeroa Reps, v Te Aroha, No. 1, 2.30 p.m. Juniors: Netherton v United, No. 2, 1.1'5 p.m. Hikutaia v West, No. 1, 1.15 p.m. Thirds: No matches will be played on Saturday.
