WH'AREPOA INSTITUTE OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED The Wharepoa Women’s Institute usual monthly meeting was well attended, March being the month for the election of officers for the ensuing year. Mrs G. Bax presided and gave the annual presidential address which was an excellent review of the past year’s work. The treasurer, Mrs Henwood read the annual balance sheet and this showed an excellent credit balance. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mirs G. G. Bax; vice-president, Mrs H. Bax; hon. sec., Mrs T. Bax; treasurer, Mrs G. Henwood; committee, Mesdames G. Bax, T. Bax, G. Henwood, M. Innis, H. Bax. It was decided to have a garden exchange. During the meeting Mrs G. Bax presented Mrs M. Innis with the trophy for the winner of the best bloom competition for the year, this is. a silver cake plate which is held by each winner for a year. Mrs H. Bax received the annual prize for the most points won for exhibits throughout the year; this prize was donated by Mrs Hanan. The secretary, Mrs T. Bax, presented Mrs G. Bax with the prize for the greatest number of entries during the year. iShoulder sprays were presented by the president to Mrs M. Cross, retiring secretary, and Mesdames Henwood and T. Bax, while she herself received a floral tribute from her members, presented by Mts T. Bax. Mrs Atkinson was judge and< hostess for the day and read one of the golden thread series “Women of Italy.” The best bloom competition was won by Mrs T, Bax and' the wall competition 1 by Mrs F. Bown. Points prize results were: Mrs Bown 1, Mrs Warrender 2. The meeting was closed with the Institute Ode and' the National Anthem*
