DANCE AT TURUA
SU'OOESISFUL EVENING FUND'S FOR COUNTRY QUEEN A very successful dance was held recently in the Turua Public Hlall in aid of the Country 1 Queen of the Thames RJS.A. Queen Carnival. A large crowd of dancers gathered, representing different parts of the Plains and of Thames. Herb. Walker and his popular orchestra was present and the MG. was Mr J. Pye. The Monte Carlo was won by Mr C. Allen and Miss Reiley and an extra was played’ by Miss G. Fox. During the evening, the secretary, Mr J. Mitchell, introduced the Queen, Mrs Jean Death. Mrs Death thanked everyone for their patronage and said she hoped they would all help on future occasions as they had to date.
