Mr Parry Edwards who since his return from a Japanese prison camp at Singapore, has been visiting his brother Mr Edwin Edwards of Paeroa left last week for Auckland en route to Australia prior to returning to Singapore. Mr J. F. Barrett of Paeroa has received a cable from his daughter, Miss Joan Barrett who has arrived’ at Peking after being three months in Shanghai. (She is secretary for UN'RRA in China. The Mayor and Mayoress of Paeroa, Mr and Mrs Edwin Edwards, left on Sunday to attend the Municipal conference being held at Christchurch this week. Mr R. Garrett, Hamilton, was a recent guest of Mr and Mrs P. G. Pearce, Kcrepeehi.
