FIRE ON RESERVE
PLAINS WATER SUPPLY DAMAGE DONE AT puriri A fire which occurred in the Puriri district recently badly damaged the East Water Supply reserve of the Hauraki Plains County Council. A team of county workmen under the direction of Mr J. Bradford, did all in their power to ( fight the fire which actually was out of control before it was discovered. To save the high level bridge which carries the main pipe line across the river it was necessary to back-burn. The loss as far as the water supply is concerned is serious.
