MACHINERY NEEDED

CLEARING POA AQUATICA REQUEST BY MR SUTHERLAND Speaking in the House of Representatives on the Public Works Estimates, Mr A. S. Sutherland, M.P. for Hauraki, said that a water week called poa aquatica was creeping into canals and waterways on the Hauraki Plains, and was very difficult to eradicate. Machinery was required to eradicate it, and he hoped that when the mechanical equipment the Minister mentioned was obtained from the Pacific they would be able to get assistance in clearing the streams of the weed.
