REASON FOR DELAY

NEW POST OFFICE BUILDING AT COROMANDEL EXISTING DIFFICULTIES ”In reference to your recent representations regarding the proposed new post office buildings at Coromandel, I have to say that on account of existing difficulties in regard to manpower and biulding materials' it is not possible to indicate when the erection of the building is likely to be put in hand,” stated a letter from the Post-master-General to the September meeting of the Coromandel County Council. The letter added: — “You have my assurance, however, that with due regard to the prior claims, of other places which are urgently in need of post office buildings there will be no avoidable delay in proceeding with the work as soon as conditions permit. “ A residence for the Public Works is regarded as the more urgent need. This matter is under action with the Housing Department and' it is hoped to have the work commenced in the near future.”
