OPEN TOURNEY
PAEROA GOLF CLUB WIN FOR F. A. MORRISON TE AROHA WIN TEAMS MATCH An open tournament over 36 holes was held' by the Paeroa Golf Club at the week-end in perfect weather, visitors from Te Aroha, Ngatea and Netherton participating. The day was enjoyed’ by all, and' before presenting prizes, the president, Mr J. H. Bartlett made a very appropriate speech, saying that the serving of afternoon tea by the ladies was especially appreciated by all. Mr Lindsay for the Te Aroha contingent, and Mr F. E. Hammond for Ngatea visitors suitably replied. Following were the results: —
Morning medal over IS holes.—W. Murphy, J. Gordon and H. A. Morrison tied with 06 nett each, J. Gordon winning on the count-back.
Afternoon medal over 18 holes.—G. Lind’say (Te Aroha), 63 nett. Best aggregate over 36 holes.—H. A. Morrison, 66-65-131 nett.
Morning bogey match. —W. Murphy (Ngatea), 1 up. Afternoon stableford. —McLeod (Te Aroha) 1 , 39' points. Teams match over '36 holes.—Lindsay, Rosenfeldt, McLeod and Henderson (Te Aroha), 573 nett. MEDAL ROUND PLAYED CAPTAIN’S PRIZE TO R. FLATT The last round for the captain’s prize was played by the Paeroa Golf Club at the Rotokohu links last Saturday. This competition was decided by the best nett aggregate score of three rounds out of four played. The best nett score on Saturday was put up by C. P. Finlay with a nett 66, with H. Thorp and J. H. iSarjant next with 67, P. Caisley 68, L. J. Shaw 69, L. Jones 69, J. -R. Kidd 70, J. Ganley and R. Flatt 72 nett. The best aggregate for three rounds was'by R. Flatt, 69-59-72-200; J. Gordon, 66-70-66-202, L. F. Jones 67-67-69-203; H. Thorp, 72,-67-67-206; LT J. Shaw, 73-69-69-211.
