PARTY POLITICS
:(To the Editor.)
Sir, —Having Ibeen associated with Chamber of Commerce activities for the past 2'B years, I am just a little concerned about the propaganda campaign against the present Government recently instituted Iby the Associated Chambers of Commerce. Chambers of Commerce consist mostly of (business people who have every right to criticise and oppose anything that affects their interests. Criticism should, however, be fair and logical. In the press of Friday, July 6, the president of the Auckland Chamber of Commerce is reported to have stated', that “Those who were 'jealousi of the power and privileges they had obtained through State Socialism were attempting to align the campaign with party politics. That,” he said, “was contrary to fact.” 'On the bottom corner of the same page where the above appears, is an advertisement inserted by the Associated Chambers of (Commerce of New Zealand entitled “Red Flag of Warning.” This is a direct attack- on the New Zealand Labour Government designed' for the purpose of influencing readers to vote the Labour Government out.
If the campaign is successful then the National Party will 'be elected to govern this Dominion'. ‘lf this is not party, politics, what is it?—l am, etc., D. LEACH. Paeroa, 6:7:45.
