CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL ONLY ONE MORE MATCH PONSONBY TEAM TO VISIT A meeting of the management committee of the (Paeroa Rugby Union was held in the Patriotic Club on .Monday night, the chairman, Mr D. G. McMillan, presiding. Others, present were Messrs J. Hill, K. Dean, G. Masters, F. Craig, IH. (Grant, W. F. F. Faber, G. A. Avery, : L. Gloyn, A. Lindsay, J. .Verran, R. Harris, C. H. Pascoe, B. Kelly, R. L. Darley and the secretary, Mr A. (Bradburn. An offer by the Ponsonby Football Club to play in Paeroa on or about September 8 was accepted. The 'Kiwi Club adrvised that they would withdraw from the senior competition so that the competition could be finalised by one or more matches between United and West to l be played on July 28. It was arranged that the Kiwi seniors continue to play with outside teams ,and enter in the knockout competition.

It was arranged to play the Sharebroker -Gup match against the Hauraki Plains junior representatives at Paeroa on July 28, the match to be the curtain-raiser to the senior championship final. Mr Faber reported that it had been impossible to make transport arrangements to take a team to Otahuhu. The following games were arranged for next (Saturday:— Seniors Paeroa Representatives v. Waihi, at Waihi. ■Maori Representatives v. Paeroa B, No. 1 at 3 p.m. Juniors West v. Kiwi, No. 1, at 1.30 p.m. Hikutaia, a bye. Third Grade High School v. United 1 , No. 2 at 1.30 p.m.

Messrs Avery and (Kelly were appointed to represent the union at the coming conference to be held regarding the boundaries, between • Paeroa and Thames 1 . PAEROA REPRESENTATIVES TEAM TO PLAY WAIHI The following team will represent the Paeroa Rugby Union in a match against Waihi at Waihi dn Saturday: —G. Speechlay, N. Vinnicombe, E. Short, T. Oram, W. O’Loughlin, W, Harrison, F. Chaney, K. Gerrand, T. Ollington, J. Murphy, F. Herold, P. Ford, T. 'Smith, G. Laverick, J. Dean, Emergencies: R. Harris', W. McKain, J. Muirhead, J. Trembath, L. Matthews.

The team will leave the Paeroa Post Office at 1.45 p.m. on (Saturday.
