“YANKEE DOODLE DANDY” PROGRAMME AT REGENT ENTERTAINMENT MIRACLE "Yankee Doodle Dandy,” a picture about America’s master entertainer, George M. Cohan, is an entertainment miracle in itself. The story is grand, vivid and sparkling enough to stand • alone; but coupled with a brilliant cast, fine music and excellent, welldirected production numbers, it takes its place among the never-to-be-for-gotten pictures in film history. The picture will show” at the Regent Theatre on Saturday and Monday. James Cagney is cast as the showworld’s greatest song and dance man and is said to be perfect for the role. All the glorious Cohan tunes, from' the -inspiring “You’re -a Grand Old Flag” and “Over There,” to the comic novelty, “Harrigan,” are played. The production numbers include bits of “Little Johnny Jones,” “45 Minutes From Broadway,” plus a score’ of other Cohan musical hits.

“Yankee Doodle Dandy” has an excellent supporting cast, made up of such fine performers as George Tobias,, Frances Langford, Eddie Foy Jnr., Chester Clute, Odette Myrtil, and many more. FINALLY TO-NIGHT DOUBLE FEATURE “The Leather Burners” and “Aerial Gunner” will show finally’tb'-night at the Regent Theatre.
