COROMANDEL NEWS
ODDFELLOWS MEET . LOYAL HAURAKI LODGE INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS The quarterly summoned meeting of the Loyal 'Hauraki Lodge was held in the lodge room, Coromandel, recently, the N.G., Sister- E. M. Riley, presiding. The sick visitors reported those members on the sick list to be progressing favourably. Several apologies for absence were received and accepted.,
The N.G. asked the. members. to bring suggestions for the Christmas party to the next meeting when arrangements for the party would be gone into and finalised.
The secretary reported on the promotion of a member of the lodge who is in the Fleet Air Arm and who has been promoted to W.O. He is Bro.
Chas. Plummer of Auckland, who joined this lodge some years ago. The secretary reported that the total financial membership at the end ■of the year was 122, an increase of 12 over last year. The installation of officers for the ensuing term was carried out by the Lecture Master, P.G. 'Bro. V. Powley and the honours of the order were conferred on the newly-installedi officers. They were:—N.'G., Bro. Eric Gamble; V.iG., Sister 0. E. Anderson; Elective Secretary, Sister 0. iD. Inglis; Warden, Bro. L. Perfect; Guardian, (Bro. B. Shandley; Lecture Master, P.G. Bro. S. K. Chapman and Conductor, P.G. Sister P. E. Riley. The lodge prayer was then read and the meeting closed. A sumptuous supper was served and everyone enjoyed a happy hour round the supper table after which games and dancing concluded the evening’s entertainment.
