PRIZE-GIVING

WAITAKARURU SUNDAY SCHOOL GOOD WORK BY MRS HEDGES An event which always attracts- the highest attendance of any Waitakai’uru Sunday was no exception last Sunday when the prizegiving ceremony of the Church of England Sunday School was held in the church. The Rev. David after giving a suitable address to the young folk presented prizes to each child present. Mrs N. Hedges must feel gratified at the result of the work she has done during the past year, as membership of the Sunday School has increased considerably and the attendance on each Sunday has been excellent. The record for the older boys was particularly praiseworthy. W. Burdus attended Sunday School on every Sunday on which school was held, a total of 38 days. The three boys who tied for second' place attended 3d days. The' other boys in. this class also had a good attendance record.
