Workers’ Union The Kerepeehi Workers’ Union held a meeting in the Kerepeehi Hall on Thursday evening, November 30. Mr W, Shilton presided over a good attendance of members. Mr Shilton gave a very interesting report on the conference held recently in Auckland. Another Variation When discussing the statement that salt had; an adverse effect on poa aquatica, a member of the Thames Valley Drainage Board, Mr S. F. Body, suggested last week amid laughter that an experiment along the same lines' as the Minister of Internal Affairs, with superphosphate for trout feed should be tried; only with salt in the bag instead of super. Thames Manpower Office A manpower office will be established shortly in Thames and will soon be opened in the Social Security building. The officer in charge will be Mr E. J. Wilton. This office will be a sub-office of district manpower headquarters, at Paeroa, and will be on the lines of a liaison office. Instead of going to Paeroa on manpower matters, most persons will be able to have them attended to in that town.
