NGATEA TENNIS CLUB

WEATHER MARS FUNCTION

In spite of the unfavourable weather there was a large gathering of tennis supporters and players present at the official opening the Ngatea Tennis Club held on Saturday. The ladies of the club were responsible for a delicious afternoon tea after which the president, Mr H. L. Julian welcomed and thanked everyone for their support, calling upon Mrs F. E. Hammand to serve the .first ball of the season. He then declared, the courts opened for the 1944-45 season. The weather cleared. and ; later in. the afternoon the courts _dried and those who were there, enjoyed the rest of the afternoon playing.
