COT FOR TRIPLETS
PRESENTATION TO MOTHER FUNCTION AT HOSPITAL INTEREST OF THE. PEOPLE A number of Coromandel residents attended an. unusual ceremony at the Coromandel Hospital recently whem the county chairman, Mr E. Deelble, presented to Airs Harrison a large size cot and accessories on- behalf of her three baby daughters. “It is a very great privilege and pleasure to me to be associated with the women of Coromandel this afternoon to meet you and your three bonny wee daughters,” said Mr Deeble.
“The,women of Coromandel iby their ■presence here this afternoon show that they are keenly interested in you •?nd your three little ones and they wish to make a friendly contact and to convey to you their personal congratulations and those feelings of affinity which are known to those who have experienced the joys of motherhood. “Speaking on behalf of the residents of Coromandel, I wish you to know that their kindest thoughts and wishes went out to you, and'when the eventful day arrived and we learned that you had given birth to three bonny baby girls and that you were quite well and cheerful, a feeling of joyfulness and thankfulness permeated the community.
“The residents considered the birth of triplets an outstanding event in the history of Coromandel and to commemorate this important event, and as a gesture of goodi-will they have entrusted to me a very pleasant duty, and that is, to present to you-on behalf of your three baby daughters this lovely cot and nursery accessories which they trust will be a great comfort to each of them.
“I wish to assure you that our interest in your little ones will not cease with this presentation, but we will continue to follow their welfare and progress with kindly interest,” concluded Mr Deeble.
Mrs iC. H. McKenzie, vice-president of the Coromandel Plunket Society handed Mrs Harrison a lovely bouquet.
The accessories for the cot were three aircell blankets, three sheets, three little pillows and mattress. Mrs Harrison thanked everyone who had been so kind in giving her triplets such a nice present and took the opportunity of thanking the matron and staff for being so kind to her both before and after the babies were born.
Among those present were:—Mrs Harrison, Mr and Mrs 'Deeble, Mr and Mrs Patterson, Miss Maxwell, Mesdames P. Murphy, N. S. Ward, C. Anderson, 0. Strongman, S. Strongman Snr., 'Maurice Inglis, Macdonald, McKinley, A. G. McNeil and McKenzie.
