DEMAND BY MOTHERS

SCHOOL HOLIDAY TRAVEL PROTEST TO PRIME MINISTER “We mothers of New Zealand demand the return of our children to their homes for the three inter-term holidays in the year and request the Government to make immediate arrangements for their travel. Our reasons are not for pleasure but for the welfare of the mental and physical health of the future parents and citizens of New Zealand,” was a resolution passed at the last meeting of the Coromandel Women’s Institute. Unanimous support was given to the resolution which was proposed by Dr. Logan after she had spoken 1 strongly against the decision of the Government not to provide transport for school children to their homes for the May holidays. The resolution is to be sent to Mr J. Thorn, M.P. for Thames, the Prime Minister, and to be sent to the May conference of the Auckland Federation of Women’s Institutes.
