EASTER BALL
WHITIANGA FUNCTION BAZAAR IN WHITIANGA VERY SUCCESSFUL EVENING Over 200 people wended their way to the ball held in Whitianga on Easter Monday. The funds were for renovations to the Whitianga Hall which badly needs attention. Mrs AHoward arranged a committee and offered to raise funds for this purpose. The hall for the evening was transformed; into a lovely bower of greenery with blue and gold decorations and coloured lights twinkling here and there. The pretty shades of the dangers’ evening frocks added charm midst the streamers and confetti. Mr Macky’s orchestra of Thames
supplied the latest dance hits. A visting piano-accordionist greatly assisted. Mr Hemmings was M.C. for* the evening. A lovely savoury supper was provided by the ladies of the committee. The winners of the Monte Carlo and spot waltzes were Mrs Russell and Miss Margaret Russell and Mr Webb and partner respectively. Visitors attended from Coromandel and the surrounding districts and 'the sum of £l7 was handed to the hall committee.
