CARPENTRY TRAINING SCHEME AUCKLAND CENTRE Applications will be received not later than April 17 for Training in the Carpentry Course, commencing May 15, 1944, of approximately 17 weeks in Workshop and 34 weeks on House Construction. Preference will be given to Ex-Servicemen of this War. Allowance £5/5/- per week. Apply personally to any District Rehabilitation Officer. COUNTY OF OHINEMURI LOCAL ELECTIONS Under the provisions of the Local Elections and Polls Amendment Act 1944 the residential franchise has been adopted for all County elections in addition to the usual ratepayer’s qualification. Any person desiring to be enrolled and possessing the necessary qualifications must complete enrolment form and forward same so as to reach the undersigned before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, the 19th. THAMES DISTRICT COUNCIL QF PRIMARY PRODUCTION. FERTILISER APPEALS FOR THE 1944-45 RATIONING SEASON. NOTICE is Hereby given that the Fertiliser Appeals Committees in the Auckland Province will deal with Appeals received up to and including April 30, 1944. The basis on which Appeals will be received is as under:— (1) From any Farmer who desires to obtain fertiliser for top-dressing purposes and who has no allocation of fertiliser at present. (2) From any Farmer who can •show that by basing his fertiliser allocation on the two years ended May 31, 1941, he was unduly penalised. It should be dearly understood that any tonnage of fertiliser allocated by the Committee will not be available before July 1, 1944, also that no appeal received after April 30, 1944, will be considered. Any Farmer within the Thames Primary Production Council’s area should address his appeal to:— The Chairman, Thames Fertiliser Committee, C/o. J. E. Green, Box 5, TURUA. J. E.
