It is desired to draw the attention of the public to some of the provisions of the Meat Act, 1939, regarding the slaughtering of stock for sale for Human Consumption. 1 Sections 45 and 46 of the Act prohibit (except as therein provided) the slaughtering on any farm situated within six miles by the nearest available road of any Abattoir District, Borough or Town District, of stock intended for sale for Human Consumption. Patriotic Efforts PATRIOTIC gTREET gTALL A Street Stall to raise funds for the 1944 All Purposes Appeal will be held in Paeroa on Friday, April 21, by the Paeroa Ladies’ Croquet Club. The Coipmittee earnestly appeals to the public for donations of produce, fruit, meat, poultry, cakes, preserves, jams, etc. Donations may be left at the Borough Chambers, the Countv Chambers, the Gazette Office and at the Stall.
