APPEALS HEARD
ARMED FORCES BOARD SITTING IN WHITIANGA CASES HEARD LAST THURSDAY A sitting of the No. 1 Armed Forces Appeal Board was held in the Whitianga Courthouse, Mercury Bay, on Thursday, June 10, the chairman, Mr .Edwin Edwards, presiding. Associated with him were Messrs E. J. Wilton, J. J. Poland and the secretary, Mr A. Ripley. Capt. Williamson represented the Army. The following appeals were adjourned sine die, reservist to remain in his present occupation and to continue to serve with the Home Guard. Appellant’s name is shown in parenthensis:—■
Kenneth Bruce Worden, farmhand (T. D. Worden); Kenneth Alfred Hamilton, farmer (Mr William Hamilton); Norman Archer Wells, farmer, (self); Arthur Herbert Lee, farmer (Arthur Herbert Lee Snr.); Frederick Sewell Harsant, farmer (H. H. Harsant).
The appeal of J. C. Minifie, farmer, for John Percival Minifie was adjourned sine die, reservist to remain in his present occupation. Leave of absence from Home Guard was granted. The appeal of Walter Alister Turner farmer, on his own account, was adjourned sine die on condition reservist remains in his present occupation. Leave of absence was granted from the Home Guard.
The appeal of James George Lilley for Frederick Lilley was withdrawn by leave of the board.
