COMPLAINT TO COUNTY

POOR SUPPLY OF WATER FARMER ON CANAL ROAD A strongly-worded complaint regarding the shortage of water on his farm was received at Wednesday’s meeting of the Hauraki Plains County Council from Mr V. Gordon, of Canal road, Waitakaruru. Mr Gordon wrote as follows: — “It is a pity you chaps do not have herds milking up the Canal road, Waitakaruru. From Christmas up to about a fortnight ago I had no water in my overhead tanks for cooling. Then for a week it was fair and now it has flown again. “I have to get in ahead of the cows in the morning to get some water from a trough for filling the heater.” The letter concluded with an appeal to the council to do something to improve the position. The letter was received. Mr F. Pinchess commented that the man had had a lot of trouble. The chairman, Mr C. W. Parfi't, assured members the letter was addressed to all the councillors.
