U.S.A. “HAW HAW”

BROADCASTS TO AMERICA

LONG PERIOD .SPENT IN ITALY

Elzra Pound, the (American poet, who is one of the leading influences in modern English verse, has become America’s Lord Haw-Haw and broadcasts regularly from Rome to America. In his latest talk he deplored the entry of the United States into the war against Italy and Germany, declaring that “the profiteers” had been too strong for Roosevelt, and had dragged America into the conflict. Among Pound’s many eccentricities and aberrations, his admiration for the Fascist regime in Italy has long .been notorious. He has been living in Italy for some years, after a long period in London.
