NOW A MAIN ROAD
LENGTH TO WHENUAKITE DECISION OF THE COUNCIL At the monthly meeting of the Coromandel County Council a notice of motion proposed by Mr E. M. Minifie and seconded by the chairman, Mr C. C. Rae “that (under authority of (Section 131 c of the Counties’ Act, 1929, the undermentioned road being a county road be hereby declared to be a main road, this resolution to operate as a special order. Schedule: That road running from the Coroglen-Waihi Main Highway to the Whenuakite Ferry, landing at Whitianga Harbour via Purangi,” was carried.
Considerable discussion arose when this notice of motion was tabled and on a show of hands the motion was carried by six votes to three.
