“TO WOMEN OF AUSTRALIA”
A BOND OF SYMPATHY
A (brooch which is presented by the Australian Government to mothers with sons serving in the forces 1 was shown to the Taranaki Herald by a Sydney visitor to New Plymouth, Mrs Elenor Hempton, when interviewed. The (brooch,' which is inscribed 1 “To the Women of Australia,” is provided with a bar for every son which the recipient has serving in the forces. It established a bond of sympathy between mothers, stated Mrs Hempton, and even if they had met only for the first time it provided an approach to friendship.
