NOT SUFFICIENT
GIRLS’ CLOTHING ALLOWANCE
THOSE ON ACTIVE SERVICE
A complaint that the £lO a year clothing, maintenance allowance for members of the Women’s War Service Auxiliary on active service in the Middle East was inadequate was made by Mr F. W. Doidge (National, Tauranga) in the House of Representatives, when he gave notice of question on the subject to the Minister of Defence.
Mr Doidge’s question was whether thr Minister was aware that these girls were suffering great hardships and disabilities as the result of the paucity and unsuitability of the equipment issued to them. He asked the Minister to have immediate inquiry made with a view to imprising the position.
