MUST ATTEND PARADE

TO BE MARKED “PRESENT” HOME GUARD REGULATIONS It has been brought to the notice of the Home (Guard authorities that certain company commanders are marking “present” at parades men who forward excuses for non-attend-ance, and it is emphasised that this practice must cease immediately.

No man is to be marked present unless he attends, for the whole period of the parade. The abject of an acceptance of an excuse is to protect the Guardsman /against disciplinary action for non-attendance. Capitation can only be earned by actual attendance at parades and therefore the greater the capitation grant the higher the standard of effciehcy ex-, pected.
