SELLING FREELY
DAIRY HERDS IN DEMAND
PATETONGA CLEARING SALE
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, report on having held a succeessful clearing sale at Patetonga on behalf of Mr L. F. B. Nicholson. There was
a large and representative attendance of buyers and competition throughout was exceptionally keen.
The dairy herd elicited spirited bidding from the large bench of buyers most of the cows selling freely at from £lO to £l2 10s, the majority of cows realising double figures. The dairy heifers although rather backward,, met with good competition and sold to £9 10 s.
Implements and sundries sold at high prices. Prices were as follows: —
Good young dairy cows, £lO 15s to £l2 10s; medium quality dairy cows, £8 10s «to £lO 10s; aged dairy cows, £6 to £8 ss; unsound cows, £4 10s to £5 15s; Jersey bulls, £5 to £lO 10s; medium quality dairy heifers, £B. to £9 10s; medium weaner Jersey heifers realised £3.
Breeding sows, £1 15s to £3 las; store pigs, £1 to £1 18s.
Aged, farm horses, £lO to £l3
