SCOUTS ENTERTAIN
SOCIAL HELD IN COROMANDEL VERY ENJOYABLE FUNCTION A very successful social evening of the Coromandel Boy .Scouts and Girl Guides with their parents was held recently in the' Methodist Chhrch Hall under the auspices of the Social Committee. Mr D. H. Knight, and Miss Bell, Lieutenant of Girl Guides, w£re in charge of the items, which were enjoyed by all. ' Supper was provided by the committee and ladies. Miss Janet McLellen officiated at the piano. Mr S. Strongman, chairman of the committee, thanked the ladies and those who rendered the items making . the evening such a success. The programme was as follows: National Anthem; community sing; solo, Leslie Denize, “There’s a Lamp Shining Bright”; whistling solo, by Trevor Turner; bar work, :by the Boy Scouts; recitation, .by June Allington; community sing; apple eating competition; trio, by Boy Scouts Leslie Denize, Jim McLellan, Glen Dobbs; Oliver Glogoski secured his entertainer’s badge; community sing; Girl Guides, proverbs; black plate game; parcel game; tumbling, by Boy Scouts; peanut game; pyramids, by Boy Scouts; high jumping, by Scouts; solo, by Merle Gamble; game, penny and threepence; solo, by Bill Glogoski; solo, by Leslie Denize, “Maori Bat”; Auld Lang Syne. w ■ ■-■ty
