COROGLEN INSTITUTE MEETS LIBRARY TO BE OPENED There was a good attendance of members at the June meetingof Coroglen Women’s Institute, Wool was received for knitting garments for the Merchant Navy and was distributed among members. Next month a special collection of old files and. rasps will 'be made to be sent and reconditioned for defence purposes. Also old rubber, tyres, hot water bottles, old preserving rings and anything made of rubber will be collected. A good collection is hoped for. It was announced that a branch of the Country Library Service is to be opened in Coroglen this month. This service will be filling a long-felt want in the district. Books will be housed at the Post Office and Miss K. Hodge has kindly consented to act as librarian. Subscription will be open to the whole community.
The usual first aid lecture was given, members being still all keen
and triangular bandaging practice was held for half an hour.
The flower competition was won by Mrs W. Feilding with Mrs Gordon second.
