BONER PRICES IMPROVE

GOOD SALE AT FRANKTON MORE DEMAND FOR STORE PIGS The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company Limited i eport that at their weekly Frankton sale on Tuesday a larger yarding of fat sheep than last week came forward, the entry comprising chiefly wether mutton. Values, although quite good, were slightly lower than those ruling last sale. A small entry of ewe mutton realised improved prices, whilst fat "lambs were slightly easier, with the quality only medium. An average yarding of store sheep comprising principally of store lambs, which sold at improved values. A large yarding of all classes of fat and store cattle with values 1 for ox beef and cow and heifer beef again firm. A consignment of medium prime Polled Angus bullocks from Mr A. W. Playle, Tauwhare, realised from £ll to £ll 17s. A large yarding of fat calves also met steady competition, last week’s prices being maintained. A large entry of boner cattle with values ahead of schedule rates. A medium yarding of fat pigs. Competition for prime baconers and porkers was keen with prices showing an advance on last week’s rates. Top price for baconers was £4 Bs, this being the highest figure obtained for some considerable time. Stores and weaners met an improved demand, values being a shade firmer.
