BEEF PRICES IMPROVE
DULL SALE OF DAIRIES LARGE YARDING IN PAEROA At the fortnightly stock sale held at the Paeroa yards on Monday the New Zealand Loan-and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., report that there was a large penning of all classes of cattle. Dairies were dull of sale but beef and stores showed an improvement on recent sales. Best dairy cows and heifers made from £5 5s to £6; medium quality, £4 10s to £5, others, £3 10s to £4 .ss; prime beef cows, £6 5s to £7, medium £5 'ss to £5 15s, light £4 5s to £5 ss; heavy boners, £3 10s to £3 15s; medium, £3 to £3 10s; light, £2 5s to £2 15s; thin, 30s to £2. Store lambs made to 12s. Best quality choice calves, £3 10s to £4; medium, £2 10s to £3 ss; in-calf heifers, £4 5s to £5. Bulls, 2s 6d to 30s.
