FIRE IN PLANTATION
PAEROA BRIGADE CALLED OUT
LITTLE DAMAGE DONE The Paeroa Volunteer Fire Brigade was called out shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday when a plantation behind Mr P. Williams Jut's. house in Hill street caught alight. The water pressure was not sufficient for the brigade to use the main hose but the fire was practically out by the time the brigade arrived due to the prompt action of Mr Williams and some neighbours.
The brigade quelled the remaining fire by using a bucket pump. Very little damage was done.
