TE AROHA’S DEFECTION

RUGBY AT MORRINSVILLE LACK OF INTEREST REPORTED In his report to the annual meeting of the Te Aroha Rugby Union the secretary stated: — “Because many of our players had volunteered for military service overseas it was eventually decided to enter one senior team in the Morrinsville competition. However, owing to further enlistments and lack of interest on the part of some of the mainstays of the team, it was not deemed prudent to spend further time and money on this team. Travelling expenses and equipment in this connection proved a big item of expenditure, and accounts to a great extent for the loss' shown in the bal-ance-sheet on the season’s working.” It was decided to play no senior football.
