MR HAMILTON’S VISIT WELCOME TO ELECTORATE PARTY ORGANISATION MANY DISTRICTS REPRESENTED The chairman of the National Party’s electorate committee, Mr W. C. Kennedy of Te Aroha, presided at the luncheon and gave Mr Hamilton a cordial welcome from the members who, he stated, were very pleased to meet their leader in the flesh. Mr Hamilton addressed the members for over an hour on the need for organisation of the party and steps that should be taken, and was accorded an attentive and appreciative hearing. Vote of Tranks At the conclusion of his address a vote of thanks was carried on the motion of Mr Edwin Edwards who paid a tribute to the personality of the leader.
The delegates later met Mr Hamilton and discussed various points of the party’s programme with him. Mr
Hamilton has visited the (Bay of Plenty and Waikato district and will conclude the week with a tour of the King Country. OK her Nationalists Attend At the luncheon Mr W. S. Goosman, M.'P. for Waikato, and Mr J. M. Allen, M.P. for Hauraki, were present together with Mr W. A. Clark, the National candidate foi' Thames at the recent general election. Every branch in the Thames constituency except Colville, for whom an apology for absence was tendered, was represented, including such outlying districts as Coromandel, Kuaotuhu, Mercury Bay, Waitekauri and Waitawheta. . The invitations to the luncheon were
confined, at Mt Hamilton’s express wish, to active members and delegates to the party and to members who had rendered assistance during the election period. No statement for publication was made by Mr Hamilton.
