THE GOLDEN DAWN
REPORT FOR PAST FORTNIGHT PROGRESS OF MINE WORK. The Golden Dawn Gold Mines Ltd.’s mine report for the fortnight ending September 4, states:
No. 3 level: Crosscut west off No. 2 reef north driven 19 feet, total 116 feet. Country is still of a splendid class for carrying reefs. Drive south on reef 92 feet in crosscut west driven 14 feet. Reef is 12 inches wide and value £1 13s per ton. Drive north on reef cut at 72 feet driven 16 feet, averages 12 inches wide, value £1 15s 8d per ton. At 22 feet a leader three inches wide crossed the face running east and west, value £l2 15s 10d per ton. Drive south on No. 4 reef driven 19 feet. Reef averages 8 inches wide, value £8 14s 7d per ton. Drive north on No. 4 reef driven 5 feet. Reef averages 10 inches wide, value £6 4s 5d per ton. Bottom intermediate level: Crosscut east off No. 3 reef south driven 8 feet. The country rock is of a good class. No. 3 level: Stoping on reef going into westwall off No. 1 reef, averages 20 inches wide, value 14s 4d per ton. Stoping on No. 2 reef north, reef averages 17 inches wide, value £4 Is lid per ton. Stoping on No. 4 reef north and south of crosscut. Reef averages 14 inches wide, value £ll 15s 9d per ton. Stoping on westwall branch reef north and south of old. pass. Reef averages 12 inches wide, value £7 Is lid per ton.
Bottom,intermediate level: Underhand stopes on No. 1 reef south. Reef averages 20 inches, value £6 Is 5d per ton. Stoping on reef formation off westwall branch, averages 14 inches wide, value £4 2s lOd per ton.
