REGENT THEATRE

“ROSE MARIE” FINALE DOUBLE BILL COMING HUMOUR — DRAMA — THRILLS. To-night is the final screening at the Regent Theatre of “Rose Marie,” starring Jeanette MacDonald and Nelson Eddy. A pair who were once known as “the screen’s greatest lovers” appear as brother and sister in Paramount’s com-edy-romance, “Wedding Present,” at the Regent to-morrow and Friday with Joan Bennett and Cary Grant in starring roles. The two are Conrad Nagel, cast in “Wedding Present” as a novelist, and Lois Wilson. In the silent days Nagel and Miss Wilson were frequently co-starred in the romantic leads of Paramount pictures. George Bancroft, Gene Lockhart, Inez Courtney, Edward Brophy and Damon Ford have important supporting roles in “Wedding Present,” which is adapted by B. P. Schulberg from a Paul Gallico Saturday Evening Post story. The solution of a baffling murder committed directly in front of forty horrified witnesses who see the victim fal] dead at their feet, but catch no sight of the murderer or his weapon, is the basis of Paramount’s “Murder With Pictures,” with Lew Ayres and Gail Patrick, also at the Regent tomorrow and Friday. In an entirely new treatment for this type of picture, the identity of the slayer is ultimately revealed in a whirlwind finish by a photograph which was taken just as the crime was committed. A mere wisp of smoke in the photograph betrays the plotter and breaks a “perfect crime.”
