TO WASH BLACK FROCKS.

To avoid the white and streaky marks left in black materials when washed with soap, dissolve half a teacupful of powdered borax with boiling water, and add not more than two gallons of water of a temperature comfortable to the hands. Put the article to be washed in this, and let it soak thoroughly. Rub lightly any badlysoiled places, then rinse till water is clear. All lightweight black materials will be thoroughly clean after this treatment.
