NEW PYJAMAS

FILM STAR’S LUXURIOUS SUIT. Robert Kalloch, Columbia Studios designer, startled the fashion world when he added tiny trains to the trousers of the smart cocktail pyjamas he created for Irene Dunne to wear in “The Awful Truth.” The navy satin trousers of this suit are topped by an East Indian tunic of matching net appliqued with an all-over pattern of white silk braid. In the same luxurious mood Kalloch has designed another hostess pyjama ensemble for Miss Dunne. Powder blue slipper satin fashions a sweeping full-length coat with stitched lapels and wing sleeves, which are edged | with bands of Russian sable. The j tailored slip pyjamas beneath are of ■ blush pink satin, and as an important fashion note Kallock designed hostess slippers that fit like a glove over the instep of blue net with heels anl narrow trim of silver kidskin.

Hand-painted flowers in orange, blue, green, and yellow spot a white lacquered satin house coat also created by Kalloch for Miss Dunne. Cut princess line with flowing skirt, long sleeves squared at the shoulders, and wide, notched lapels of blue faille, this costume shares equal honours with those described above.
