GIRL’S HEROISM
SAT WITH INJURED CLIMBER. Joy Howells, aged eight years, is the heroine of a mountain accident on the slopes near her home, states the South African Newsletter. A climber fell 100 ft. down a sheer rock face and landed on a narrow ledge, seriously injured. Joy Howells, who was walking along the path be]ow r , saw the fall and hurried up.
Tro injured climber’s companion asked her to remain w r ith the injured man while he went for assistance. Joy ’limbd more than 1500 ft. up a difficult slope to the narrow ledge where L he badly injured man was lying, and sat with him for over an hour until a stretcher party arrived.
