TRAFFIC TALLY
PART OF P.W.D. CENSUS. A traffic tally is being conducted by the Public Works Department in the district covered by the Hauraki Plains, Ohinemuri, Thames and Piako counties as part of the traffic census taken every two or three years, both winter and summer. The tally extends over a week between the hours of 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. It commenced last Sunday morning and will conclude at 10 p.m. to-mor-row. The summer tally will be taken next January.
Following are the points at which officers are stationed in the district : Waitakaruru, Dalgety’s corner, Netherton ferry, Kopu, Tapu, Mackaytown, Waihi beach turn-off, Mangaiti, Waitoa, Morrinsville (Tauhei turnoff), Tahuna and Waharoa.
