Mr Harold Menzies, of Whangarei, a former Paeroa resident, is visiting the town. Constable J. McClinchy, formerly stationed at Paeroa, visited the town during the week-end. Mr B. Aitken is confined to his bed following a severe stroke on Saturday. He is improving slowly. Constable D. Beck of Napier has been transferred to Paeroa in succession to Constable C. Dalbeth. He will arrive at his new station this week. Mr A. G. Crockford of Ngatea attended the Returned Soldiers’ Association golf tournament held at Okoroire during the week-end. Colonel R. Miles, officer in command of the Northern Command, visited Paeroa on official business on Friday. The election of directors of the Thames and Waihou Springdale wards, Te Aroha-Thames Valley Cooperative Dairy Company, resulted in Messrs D. Courtney (Puriri) and H. M. Corbett (Waihou) being returned I unopposed.
