AGED MAORI DIES
MRS. WANI, OF cAWAITI. An elderly Maori woman, Te Kuratu Te Aku Wani, of Awaiti, died suddenly at the home of her sister, Mill Road, Paeroa, at about 5 a.m. last Saturday. On Wednesday last she went to visit her sister and while she was sitting up in bed at about 4.30 on Saturday morning she complained of pains about the region of the heart. In a very short time she sank back and by the time Dr. W. W. Little had arrived she was dead. She had previously suffered with her heart and Dr. Little was able to give a certificate that the cause of death was acute heart failure.
