The rainfall at Paeroa for the 24 hours ended at 8.30 this morning was three and a third, inches. The Waihou and the Ohinemuri Rivers are rising, but owing to the dryness of the country there is little chance of a flood unless the storm continues for some time. The rain is of great benefit to farmers and the growth of pasture since early last week has been astounding.

At a meeting of the Thames Cricket Association on Thursday evening the secretary was instructed to forward a letter congratulating the Paeroa Association on its success in retaining the Court Cup in the recent challenge match with Thames, and to invite Paeroa to send a team to Thames for a return match this season.
