A RICH GOLD MINE.

In Western Australia

One of the richest parcels of ore ever treated in the State was cleaned up at Kalgoorlie on December 10, when 3i tons from the Lady Gladys mine at Mulline yielded 1042 ounces of gold. An earlier parcel of 52 tons yielded 1733 a ounces. In addition, the Lady Gladys Company, which took an option over the mine last October, has nearly 200 tons awaiting treatment. From this it expected to secure the purchase price, £17,000, before Christmas. The ground was pegged by Messrs. Kozul and Mullins several months ago. They were packing up to abandon it in September, after several weeks’ trial, 'when Mullins noticed some promising stone near a rabbit burrow. It gave a .good sample, and the partners resumed work. The first result was a yield of gold worth nearly £15,000. The option was secured before the first crushing. Messrs. Vines and Becker, working a prospecting area at Grant’s Patch, secured 665 ounces of gold from 21 tons of ore.
