NIGHT TRAIN SERVICE.
FROM FRANKTON TO THAMES. A RAIL CAR TO RUN. Tiie following telegram was received by this office, from Mr A. M. Samuel, M.P., Wellington, yesterday afternoon: — "I think I can safely inform you that as the result of negotiations it lias been decided to run a rail-ear nightly from Frankton Junction to Thames, stopping at intermediate stations. This' rail-car is to connect with the Limited from Auckland, and I understand it will return to Frankton from Thames next morning in time to connect with the Limited to Auckland.”
On the matter being referred to the local .stationmaster (Mr W. P. Payne) this morning, he said that he believed such ararngoments were in negotiation, but, he had received no official intimation as to the result.
The Limited from Auckland arrives at Frankton at 9.15 p.m., and it is pioba.ble that the special service train will reach Paeroa, Shortly after midnight.
